Located in Manhattan’s theater district for 21 years, Le Marais remains the only Kosher French brasserie in New York City. Observant Jewish and even non-Jewish clientele have been coming since inception to dine on its French cuisine with North African and Portuguese influences. I personally had never been to the restaurant before, but I had passed it many times over the years. Finally, I was inspired by the cookbook launch to fully immerse myself in this multi-cultural yet very New York, dining experience.

Last night, Le Marais opened their upstairs private-events room to NYC food bloggers, critics, and journalists in honor of their new cookbook launch. Guests socialized while sampling some of the tastiest recipes from the new cookbook, including a minty corn chowder topped with veal bacon, slow braised brisket and their famous crunchy french fries. Chef Mark Hennessey and owner Jose Meirelles were proud to release this amazing collaboration that is guaranteed to bring unique flavors of Europe to your own kitchen.

Le Marais Chefs to Release Cookbook

Chefs Mark Hennessey and José de Meirelles from Le Marais restaurant in Midtown Manhattan will be releasing a self-titled cookbook on July 18. De Meirelles and Philippe Lajaunie opened Le Marais, a French steakhouse, in 1995 and since then have provided the public with dishes that offer a unique blend of French flavors complying with the laws of kashrut.
